We recently completed a repair project for a customer who discovered unexpected water damage in their home just before putting it on the market. After removing a picture from the wall, they noticed visible signs of damage to the flooring, baseboards, and sheetrock, along with a persistent bad odor.
Here's what we found and fixed:
Inspection & Discovery: We carefully removed the sheetrock to investigate the cause. It turned out that the building drain for the second floor had multiple holes, leading to leakage and water damage over time.
Repair Process: We cut out the damaged section of the drain pipe and replaced it with durable ABS DWV pipe, secured with heavy-duty bands for added stability.
Final Check: After the repairs, we conducted a thorough test on the drain, confirming no leaks and a fully restored system.
